Turkish embroidery (Antep İşi - Antep embroidery)
Antep embroidery or 'Antep isi' is a type of embroidery unique to the region of Gaziantep, Turkey. White, yellow and cream threads are embroidered onto a white or a beige background. It is an elegant handicarft that needs long and meticulous labor.
Antep embroidery is classified in five motif groups : Fishnet (File isi), Beehive (Cigerdeldi), Fantasy (Fantazi), Snowball & Spider ( Kartopu-Orumcek) and Almond ( Citi badem).
